I wanted to distinguish myself from the average photographers in the field. The instructors here at Hallmark have afforded me the opportunity to fulfill my desire and to work with confidence among fellow professionals in the business of photography. "After spending four years acquiring a BFA I felt I still did not possess the technical or business skills needed to open my own studio. Within months of beginning the program here I was leaps and bounds ahead of my fellow fine art graduates. Prospective students need to know: the four years I spent at another private college did not come close to the value of the ten months here at Hallmark. It's the best decision I ever made."

I was expecting to learn photography, but Hallmark has given me so much more. Not only did I master real world skills that landed me a full time job one month before graduation, but the program also forced me to go out of my comfort zone to build confidence in myself and my photography skills. "One year before attending Hallmark my life was at a crossroad. I had graduated with a BS in Geological Science and had to choose between working in a field that no longer interested me, or following my passion for photography; the decision was far from easy. Now, after completing the program, I can't help but look back and think that attending Hallmark was the most rewarding choice I have ever made. Not only does the curriculum apply to the real world, but the facilities also provide the same equipment used by today's top professionals. Similarly, the faculty's passion is contagious and their commitment is unmatched by any other program I have seen. Thanks to them I am now armed with the tools to succeed in one of the most competitive fields on the planet and the confidence to bring my dreams to reality."

"Finally! A school that is what they advertise! I came to Hallmark out of desperation. I went to three other well respected colleges and universities only to find that their programs were not all that I had been told they were. A friend had told me about Hallmark, and had I not heard it from a friend I probably never would have believed what they do here. It just seemed too good to be true. I came to Hallmark with virtually no knowledge of any technical aspect of photography, I didn't even know what an f-stop was. The incredible staff here has not only taught me the ins and outs of medium format, DSLR, large format, and so much more but they also taught me the most important thing of all; the business. It's amazing how much I've learned here. These past ten months have changed my life. I got to work for the two photographers I have been looking up to for the past 5 years thanks to Hallmark. In addition, Hallmark's reputation made it very easy for me to get a job. Not only am I working 40 hours a week, I also have a job offer from my favorite photographer, and images being published in The Standard Quarterly this July. None of this would have been possible without the guidance and help of the Hallmark staff. They truly go above and beyond the call of duty, the facilities here are envied by many (all the guest speakers say so), and the alumni have been incredibly helpful. I feel by enrolling at Hallmark I have become part of a large family that I hope to be giving back to for a long time. Thanks Hallmark."

Hallmark Success Stories "Hallmark has given me the professional and technical abilities to tackle any photographic situation, even in the photography hub of the world - NYC. Most other photography schools only focus on creating a pleasing image, but Hallmark teaches all the technical aspects of photography, from medium and large format, both traditional and digital, as well as the business of photography. No other school, to my knowledge, continually updates their equipment and program to keep up with the drastically changing photo industry. I meet many young people looking to begin a career in photography and want to either assist a photographer on set or just help around the studio. Very few have the abilities that allow them to jump in and start working. Most of those who do are Hallmark graduates. With the right attitude, willingness to learn and motivation, Hallmark can change your life. It changed mine."

"One of the most valuable assets I got out of my Hallmark education is practical knowledge. Whether I am shooting at a wedding, photographing a client on-location or in the studio, networking with local businesses, or working at the computer, I use the skills that I acquired during my ten months in Turners Falls every single day. Although I continue to expand my knowledge through experience, Hallmark has given me a solid technical foundation, truly cutting edge digital skills and the confidence to start my own photography business within one month of graduating. For the first time in a long time, I can say that I love what I do! And I look forward to the challenges ahead."

"After completion of Hallmark's intense 10 month program I pursued my career in the direction of the Fashion Industry. My goals and aspirations were set, I was moving to Los Angeles to begin my career in Fashion photography. When I got there I got the opportunity to Work for America's Next Top Model and then became Jay Manuel's Assistant working on the production of the Top Model Photo shoots. The technical skills and business aspects Hallmark taught me have definitely been the backbone of my success. I know that this beginning will launch my career as well as my partnership with Joey Figueiredo as Daicy/Figueiredo in the Commercial Fashion Industry."
Adam Daicy, Class of 2005
"A year ago, prior to attending Hallmark, New York City was the last place I would have expected to live and work. My choice of going to Hallmark was a decision that elevated my passion for photography. "I chose the Hallmark Institute over other schools because I loved the environment and the hands-on training. The school's program lets you dive right in and go! Hallmark taught me all the techniques and problem solving skills to create fabulous images. The challenging courses gave me the knowledge and the confidence to take on anything in the industry. Upon graduation, at 19 years of age, I opened my portrait, wedding and commercial photography studio in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island. "Halfway through my college career, I came to the decision that I needed a new direction. Changing my major from education to communications, I wasn't sure what I was going to do. That's when I found photography. After taking all the photography classes my school had to offer, I still wanted more. And that's when I found Hallmark. Their 10-month program was quick but intense. The instructors pushed me farther than I ever imagined but after graduation, the push was worth the shove. The technical and business skills I have proved invaluable to my career. Because of the education I received at Hallmark, I am able to work in a field I love every day."

"Before enrolling at Hallmark in 2003, I was not sure about a formal photographic education. Hallmark proved invaluable to me! Yes, I photographed performers and musicians, but I had not yet achieved the technical level I wanted. Moreover, in the real world, strong business knowledge is essential. Since graduation, I have been published in magazines like Hardcore Ink (tattoo and rock music), Metal Maniacs (metal music), and others. Hallmark taught me to shoot more professionally, and gave me new ideas and skills that I use today, like lighting beautiful portraits, to make money. In this very tough business, we all wait for that exciting break. Hallmark has prepared me for all the difficult challenges that photographers may face every day, and made me confident that I can tackle any obstacle in the photographic industry!"

"After graduating from high school, I knew I wanted to pursue my passion for photography. Hallmark was exactly what I needed. The program provided an education in the art, craft and business of photography. Upon graduating from Hallmark's intensive ten-month program, I became the digital retoucher for Kerry Brett Hurley Photography, in Boston, MA. There I retouched the cover of the Improper Bostonian's "Boston Best" issue — readership of 1/2 million. Soon afterwards, I was promoted as her Studio Manager. Applying the knowledge garnered from Hallmark and expanding my career in photography, I then became a photographer with Milton Gil Photographers in Lyndhurst, NJ. Here I am also currently a Clientele Sales Consultant. In my career experiences thus far and in the future, I will continue to apply and take advantage of the invaluable skills learned from my education at Hallmark."

"After formally studying art and design, I realized my first love was photography. Initially self-taught, I knew that a more formal education in photography was in my best interest. Choosing Hallmark Institute was the right choice for me with its unique blend of the craft and the business of photography, all done in a concentrated 10-month program. Hallmark gave me the necessary combination of knowledge, insight and skills necessary to start my own successful commercial photography business in Las Vegas, Wayne Wallace Photography. With each passing day, the opportunities to practice my skills as a photographer in this dynamic marketplace continue to challenge me. Hallmark has given me the tools to succeed."

Ten months is a short time, but I guarantee that it will be the best ten months of your life — it certainly was for mine!"
