What is a Security Operations Center (SOC)?
A security operations center is an operational facility designed and equipped to monitor, detect and assess threats, and defend enterprise information systems. A SOC depends on skilled people, specifically designed processes and technologies to:
- Provide awareness of potential cyber-attacks on data
- Contain the threat
- Remediate any disruption and damage

The SOC would be utilized by the community for training and competitions.
Opportunities for Financial Partnership
Once completed the SOC will be a highly visible and valued community asset. The HU SOC is a project offering primary sponsor naming rights. The “Name of Donor Security Operations Center at Hallmark University.” Primary naming is reserved for donors that invest more than fifty percent of the non-remodel cost. In addition, there are opportunities for SOC sponsors that will be recognized in the physical space as well as in materials promoting the operation to our community.
Has Hallmark identified, dedicated, and designed the physical space?
Yes. In the IT wing of our I-10 campus, we have identified space that currently includes an underutilized break area and two small offices. Together the space is ideal for our SOC and includes floor to ceiling windows giving high visibility to stakeholders visiting the facility. The projected cost of remodeling the space and equipping the SOC with the proper technology is $142,596.
