Memorial Scholarship provides $20,000 for Women Earning Their Undergraduate Business Degree
Kelly Harris was a role-model in the San Antonio community, touching upon the lives of those she met through work and throughout her daily life. Driven and passionate about what she did, Kelly worked at USAA for over 30 years, climbing the corporate ladder and setting a precedent for those who followed in her footsteps. Following her passing, Hallmark University’s Board of Trustees founded the Kelly Harris Memorial Scholarship available for women enrolling for their undergraduate business degree.
“Kelly was very loyal and dedicated to USAA,” shared Phil Harris, Kelly Harris’ father and former Hallmark University Board of Trustees member. “She had done very well in her time at USAA, and we are very proud of her.
Kelly joined USAA right after earning her bachelor’s degree, processing claims and getting members the help they needed. She climbed the corporate ladder over the years, later becoming a Business Analyst advising USAA’s Presidents and Vice Presidents on executing the financial institution’s plans.
“She was very fun to be around, had a great sense of humor, and was very loyal to those she was friends with. Kelly was a blessing to my wife and I to have as a daughter.”
After her passing, Hallmark University’s Board of Trustees established the Kelly Harris Memorial Scholarship in memory of Kelly Harris’ dedication and achievements in business. The scholarship provides up to $20,000 in financial aid to women enrolling into Hallmark University’s School of Business.
“It is an honor to be able to help someone that may not have the funds to complete their education and to get a job that provides for themselves and their families. Kelly was very dedicated and loyal to those she was friends with, and we are proud to honor her memory this way.”
The Kelly Harris Scholarship is available for incoming undergraduate business students. Incoming students are encouraged to apply if they meet the eligibility requirements.
