Hallmark University Mission: We change individual lives by developing superior skills, knowledge, and character. Founded in 1969, Hallmark University (HU) is a highly innovative, specialized, and intensive nonprofit University located in San Antonio, Texas. We are a workforce development institution of higher education focused on degrees in only four areas: Aviation, Nursing, Cybersecurity/IT, and Business. HU empowers diverse and nontraditional students to earn an associate degree in just over one year, a bachelor’s degree in just over two years, and a master’s degree in one year.
Our students Hallmark University’s diverse and non-traditional student population reflects its commitment to providing people of all backgrounds in South Texas the opportunity to build healthy, productive, and satisfying lives. Many of our students are returning to higher education after life’s challenges may have temporarily disrupted their academic pursuits, including military service, child rearing, health issues, or other major life events. In 2022-23, 79.1% of the student body was classified as low-income, as defined by the federal poverty guidelines and reported on the FAFSA. The average age of our students is 27 years old, meaning that many of them have children and may also provide care for their parents. The median household income for students receiving financial aid was $25,042, or 127% of the federal poverty guidelines for a household size of 2. The average household size for Hallmark Students is 2.4
Outcome-driven, accredited curriculum Our degree programs are centered around rigorous curriculum, hands-on, experiential learning models, and coupled with licensure and certification to give graduates an undeniable edge in the job market. HU specializes in the high-demand, high-paying, and recession-proof industries of aeronautics, nursing, business, and cybersecurity to produce a prosperous and resilient workforce in the San Antonio region. For 55 years, we have been driven by our mission and everything we do revolves around our core values of integrity, excellence, efficiency, and effectiveness. We define ourselves through our commitment to innovative academic degree programs grounded in industry feedback, our alignment with employers and industry leaders, and the development of character in every student through our mandatory, evidence-based character development curricula for all students, faculty, and staff.
High-demand, high-paying industries Unlike other universities, HU emphasizes active and experiential learning and is laser-focused on excellence in these fields of nursing, aeronautics, business, and IT/cybersecurity to guarantee high employment placement rates for graduates. With accelerated programs, affordable tuition, and the second highest graduation rate in San Antonio, HU is a leading innovator in higher education. We offer 17 different degree programs to an annual student body of 1,200.
Our ROI: 90-90-90 Our outcomes are measured by a 90-90-90 goal: 90% of graduates will have a job or advance their careers within 90 days of graduation and will earn a first-year annual salary that is at least 90% of the total cost of their tuition.
